#55 - Memaloose State Park - (Hood River, Oregon)
April 26, 2019 - April 27, 2019

A lush green forest on the right on the river. What more can you ask for!

#54 - Walmart - (Yakima, WA)
April 25, 2019 - April 26, 2019

If you've ever asked yourself what happened to all the cars from the Fast & Furious fanboys from early 2000's? Well, they all ended up in Yakima! No joke, literally 80% of all the compact sedans driving around have no exhaust.

This Walmart parking lot is off the beaten path but free

#50 - The Riverside Ranch RV Park Motel & Campground - (Hatch, UT)
September 11, 2018 - September 13, 2018

Initially we planned to head from Provo, UT down to The Grand Canyon. The weather in Arizona was triple digits and we didn't have reservations. We decided to divert to Bryce Canyon National Park. We found a spot at Riverside Ranch RV and so glad we did. We scored the last spot down by the river and were blessed with some amazing views!

We stopped by The Outlaw Saloon a few miles up the road and enjoyed a few drinks. The atmosphere was fun. They had saddles as bar stools and free pool. Beware, if you order a steak be prepared to cook it yourself!

Picture

#49 - Springville / Provo KOA - (Springville, UT)
September 10, 2018 - September 11, 2018

We drove around Provo and absolutely loved the town. It was very clean and lively partly due to all the college students out and about. The weather was hot when we arrived; 91 degrees.

We were craving asian cuisine so a quick search on Yelp led us to Four Seasons Hot Pot and Dumpling. We were greeted by a very happy and cordial gentleman who we assumed owned the restaurant. We were the first customers for the evening. I like very spicy food so I ordered the "way too hot spicy soup" as my broth. This dish was genuinely VERY spicy! It's a good thing our meal included all you can drink and ice cream :)

This KOA was located just south of Provo next to a Utah State Liquor Store.

Angelina is a huge fan of the American Ninja Warrior tv show and it just so happens that one of the "ninjas" on the show owns a bakery in Springville. Of course we had to stop and pick up some bread. The Apple Cinnamon was absolutely amazing! We picked up two loafs :)

#48 - Fireside Buffalo Valley RV Park - (Moron, WY)
September 8, 2018 - September 10, 2018

This RV Park may have had less than stellar reviews but we enjoyed our time here. The views were awesome. The landscaping on the grounds could definitely use some improvement. The front office serves as a gas station, market and bar! The bar was actually stocked with Macallan Fine Oak. They also play Sunday Night Football which made for an entertaining evening.

This location was about a 35 minute drive to Jackson. Jackson is a very cool town with lots of shops and places to eat.

Picture

#47 - Grant Village Campground - (Yellowstone National Park, WY)
September 5, 2018 - September 8, 2018

This campground was located in the heart of Yellowstone. You can drive nearly an hour in any direction from this campground and still be inside the park. We were located right next to Yellowstone Lake. There were great trails to hike or ride a bicycle around, just be sure to carry your bear spray!

Picture

#46 - Walmart Parking Lot - (Bozeman, MT)
September 4, 2018 - September 5, 2018

We decided last minute to leave Glacier half a day early to cut our drive to Yellowstone in half.

The downtown area of Bozeman was very cool but very busy. Finding a parking spot was a challenge but we found parking a few blocks away from Main Street. We found a cool subterranean whiskey bar called Copper Whiskey Bar & Grill. The design was brick, wood and copper. The photo was taken from Copper Whiskey Bar & Grill.

We found an area 10 minutes north of Main Street called the Cannery District. We found ourselves inside 406 Brewing with lots of great craft beers on tap. The food was equally amazing.

We were tired and didn't want to drive to Big Sky as originally planned. Our options were limited so we finally gave a Walmart parking lot a shot. It was only 2 minutes west of the Cannery District. The parking lot was clean. The southern and western portion of the parking lot had several other RV/Campers. We opted for the (darker) southern portion of the parking lot. This Walmart was open 24 hours which proved valuable for some last minute shopping in the morning before we hit the road.

#45 - St. Mary Campground - (Glacier National Park, MT)
September 2, 2018 - September 4, 2018

This campground was located just inside Glacier National Park. It was also located right off Going-To-The-Sun-Road which is a must drive. Be sure to have bear spray for anywhere in Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. I would highly recommend attending the evening talk led by one of the local rangers. It was both entertaining and highly educational.

Picture

#44 - Butte KOA Journey (Butte, MT)
September 1, 2018 - September 2, 2018

The KOA was nice as most KOA's that we have experienced. The night was incredibly clear and the downtown night lights on the side of the mountain were incredible. We were disappointed the next morning when we drove into town and found it to be a bit of a ghost town.

Butte was established as a mining camp and became one of the largest copper boomtowns.

Picture

#43 - Salt Lake City KOA (Salt Lake City, UT)
August 31, 2018 - September 1, 2018

I took off early to power through Orange County and up to Salt Lake City. Angelina flew into Salt Lake City. The minute we touched ground we headed straight for Nina Warehouse so Angelina could put her secret ninja obsession to the test!

#42 - South Carlsbad State Beach Campground (Carlsbad, CA)
July 27, 2018 - July 29, 2018

Picture

#41 - Table Mountain Campground (Angeles National Forest, CA)
June 15, 2018 - June 17, 2018

This was a girl's trip for Angelina and her mother. She's always wanted to visit this location and it did not disappoint. The campground was beautiful with easy hiking trails. It was situated near Mountain High Ski Resort.

Picture

#40 - Del Mar Beach Campground (Camp Pendleton, CA)
December 30, 2017 - January 1, 2018

Prior to heading to Del Mar Beach Campground, we stopped by Fiesta Island (in photo) in San Diego. Fiesta Island is a great place to park your trailer 50 feet from the water. It is very dog friendly as well!

We brought in the new year at this location. Our family friends have military ID and were able to reserve a spot for us. This location can be summed up with "sand" and "clean". There were 5 rows of RV spots. All the rows (except one) were on impacted sand which meant we did a lot of cleaning of our sandals before hopping in our rig. The RV's parked closest had about 370 feet of sand between them and the water. (Camp location 5th row, 2nd most southern spot)

#39 - Idyllwild Park (Idyllwild, CA)
December 8-10, 2017

If you have a dog or love dogs, you will really enjoy Idyllwild. The town is very dog friendly. The entire town is walking distance which helps work off all the great food in town!

#38 - South Carlsbad State Beach Campground (Carlsbad, CA)

#38 - Crystal Cove (Laguna Beach, CA)
August 5-6, 2017

#37 - South Carlsbad State Beach Campground (Carlsbad, CA)
July 28-30, 2017

#36 - Flying Flags RV Resort (Buellton, CA)
July 21-23, 2017

Hands down, the most amenities of any campground we stayed at. They had a pool, hot tubs, outdoor community fire pit and lounge, convenience store, cafe, laundry facility, horse shoe pit, playground, wine & beer bar, and it was attached to a hotel which had a full bar. There was even vintage Airstreams permanently parked for rent with outdoor entertaining areas. The Hotel attached is called Sideways Inn after the wine movie, "Sideways", formerly known as Days Inn Windmill.

#35 - Crystal Cove (Laguna Beach, CA)
July 15-16, 2017

#34 - Viewpoint RV Resort (Mesa, AZ)
May 27-28, 2017

#33 - Coconino National Forest (Cornville, AZ)
May 26-27, 2017

This free campsite was located within the Coconino National Forest's Red Rock Ranger District. Dispersed camping in red rock country about half way between Sedona and Cottonwood. The small open area at the beginning of the road could accommodate about half a dozen RV's. It is very close to the highway so you can definitely see/hear the highway traffic. We had two neighbors during our overnight stay. There were many more spots further down however the road was VERY bumpy and not ideal for RV's; better suited for car camping or tent camping. Can't complain for FREE!

#32 - Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA (Cortez, CO)
May 25-26, 2017

This campground was very open and on gravel. We were along the back which had a gorgeous view of the greenbelt.

#31 - Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort (Colorado Springs, CO)

#28 - Zion River Resort (Virgin, UT)
May 17-20, 2017

Our first trip to Utah. This RV resort is very clean and green. Our first day we spent the day inside Zion National Park hiking Angels Landing, to Zion Narrows and Weeping Rock. I logged 7.33 miles and 1999 feet in elevation gain.

We have counted about 5 other Airstreams in the RV resort. We have met two of the couples and we have come to realize, everyone is so friendly and are willing to share stories from their travels. One couple is down here in their 16' Bambi from eastern Canada and they are in the middle of an 11 week long trip. Another couple 2 spots down from us has a 19' Flying Cloud and are on their 3rd outing.

Day two of our stay in Zion was epic! We rented a Polaris Slingshot from Ridin' Zion. We began our journey in La Verkin and headed up the I-15 into Cedar City where we headed east on highway 14.This took us through freezing temperatures and snow covering both sides of the road. We continued to U.S. Route 89 where we headed south. We then headed west on highway 9 into Zion but the road was closed inside the park due to a rock slide. We backed out to U.S. Route 89 and continued south into the Arizona desert. We then drove west on 395 through Colorado City. We chose not to stop in Colorado City for obvious reasons. If you don't know about Colorado City, you can google it :)

This part of the trip included my favorite excursion I have ever been on. The views were incredible and the Polaris Slingshot is like a hybrid of a motorcycle and a sports car; which I happen to like both! We drove a total of 207 miles with view of snow, greenery against red rock, and desert. If you decide to plan a similar trip, make sure to bring extra warm clothes for the freezing temperatures, sunglasses and chapstick. Call the super friendly owner of Ridin' Zion and he'll get you all set up!

#27 - Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort (Las Vegas, NV)
May 16-17, 2017

It's been 10 months since we last stayed here. This resort definitely has all the amenities including the best wifi of any resort we have stayed so far.

Picture

#26 - Wine Country RV Resort (Paso Robles, CA)
March 10-12, 2017

This was one of the nicest RV resorts we have stayed in so far. We managed to make our way over to Justin, Halter Ranch and DAOU. Gorgeous views, perfect weather, incredible wines, what more could we ask for!

#25 - San Elijo State Beach Campground (Cardiff, CA)
March 3-5, 2017

This location is very similar to South Carlsbad State Beach. The downside is the location is adjacent to the train tracks so you hear the train's horn every so often but this didn't both us. The upside is lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. (Camp Location #10)

Picture

#24 - Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina (Newport Beach, CA)
February 18 - March 23, 2017

One day we plan on going full time but never did we imagine it would be this soon. We sold our home and while we wait for escrow to close on our new home, we are staying in our Airstream full-time. It's actually been more enjoyable than we imagined. Our 19' Airstream is perfect however the day we do decide to go full time, we will probably step it up to a 25' for more storage capacity.

#23 - Crystal Cove Moro Campground (Laguna Beach, CA)
February 4-5, 2017

This was our second time staying at Crystal Cove. This seems to be a very popular spot for Airstreams. We ran into 5 other Airstream-ers this weekend. One couple was from Europe and rented an Airstream and were telling us they wish they owned an Airstream and didn't have to go back home!

Picture

#22 - Furnace Creek Resort - Fiddler's Campground (Death Valley, CA)
January 27-29, 2017

Our first trip to Death Valley! We were guests of the Greater Los Angeles Airstream Club. There were about 14 Airstreams in total and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We happened to be there the same as one of the astronomers clubs. The nights were crystal clear so we had a chance to view stars and galaxies from telescopes up to 25" in size. Badwater was one of the greatest sights to see at 282 feet below sea level. There are so many more places to see that we will definitely be going back! (Camp Location #32)

Picture

#21 - Black Rock Campground - Joshua Tree National Forest (Yucca Valley, CA)
January 6-8, 2017

First trip of 2017! The temperature was 32 degrees as we pulled in late in the evening. The camp spots are ona slight slope so we ended up using all our Tri-Lynx Levelers. After getting settled in we made our first attempt at astrophotography. We weren't planning on freezing temperatures so this shortened our time outside behind the lens. There will be lots of opportunity in the future to play with our camera. (Camp Location #91)

Picture

#20 - San Mateo Campground (San Clemente, CA)
December 17-18, 2016

There may have not been an ocean view but where else in Orange County are you going to find a private location with views like this! The electricity and water hookups were a bonus! (Camp Location #28)

Picture

#19 - South Carlsbad State Beach (Carlsbad, CA)
December 3-4, 2016

I'm not sure we could have asked for a better view. We were expecting cold weather in November but were greeted with a warm day and cool breeze. Besides the amazing views, this location is walking/biking distance to a large selection of restaurants and a grocery store. We had one friend stay in next to us at camp location #4 and another friend who lives across the street joined us for time around the campfire. (Camp Location #5)

Picture

#18 - Crystal Cove Moro Campground (Laguna Beach, CA)
November 18-19, 2016

We stayed local this weekend and enjoyed the 82 degree weather in the middle of November! We first met Bruno in his 27' Airstream. Bruno showed us the secret on how to keep the Airstream's parking lights on without being hooked up to our tow vehicle. Later in the evening we met Dennis in his 28' Airstream who was parked next to Bruno. Dennis actually showed Bruno the secret to keeping the parking lights on. We exchanged a few stories, laughs and contact information. Every Airstream-er we have met so far are all incredibly nice and share a common bond.

Picture

#17 - Serrano Campground (Big Bear City, CA)
November 4-6, 2016

First we started out with a moderate hike up Cougar Crest Trail to Pacific Crest Trail. We were then able to squeeze in some off-road driving from Bear Mountain to Snow Summit by way of Skyline Drive. We then headed to Big Bear Lake Village by way of 2N08 to catch the first annual Big Bear Comedy Festival. (Camp Location #56)

Picture

#16 - Laguna Campground (Pine Valley, CA)
October 21-23, 2016

Two of our friends joined us on this trip, one of which owns an Airstream 25FB. We brought 3 of our furry children along on this trip. We hiked over 6 miles each day around the Big Laguna Trail and Sunset Trail. (Camp Location #35)

Picture

#15 - Dogwood Campground (Lake Arrowhead, CA)
October 14-16, 2016

We were in town for the weekend of Oktoberfest. The weekend was filled with vendors, food and of course, beer! Prost! The morning we were heading out we were met by some heavy fog. It created for some great photo shots but a slow drive home.  (Camp Location #85)

Picture

Mammoth Lakes, CA
October 3, 2016

Made another quick stop to visit friends and enjoyed some great Mexican food. Signs of snow were on the horizon so we decided to hit the road and head for Palm Springs!

Picture

#14 - Paradise Shores RV Park (Bridgeport, CA)
October 2-3, 2016

We were supposed to stay at Fallen Leaf Lake in South Lake Tahoe but another snow storm chased us away. We diverted and made a donation in Reno then continued down to Bridgeport. The owner of this campground was very welcoming. This campground was very dog friendly with dog toys all around the park. There was even a doggie wash station and leash free access to the lake.

Picture

#13 - Mazama Campground (Crater Lake, OR)
September 30-October 2, 2016

We arrived in Crater Lake and were greeted by 71 degree weather. The next morning we were excited to see some snow. The following morning when we left, we were hit with a snow storm and narrowly escaped! The Airstream held up well and kept us warm.

Picture

#12 - Sandy Riverfront RV Resort (Troutdale, OR)
September 28-30, 2016

Troutdale is a small town east of Portland, OR. There are lots of great hikes and sights to see. McMenamins Edgefield is a must see hotel/restaurant/vineyard/brewery and historic site. Multnomah Falls was a spectacular sight to see. The hike was a short but a bit challenging to the top.

Picture

#11 - Port of Newport RV Park & Marina (Newport, OR)
September 27-28, 2016

Right across from the RV Park is the Rogue Brewery. If you are into seafood, Newport is definitely a location to make a stop. We really enjoyed Local Ocean Seafoods

Picture

#10 - Harris Beach State Park (Brookings, OR)
September 25-27, 2016

Our first time in Oregon has been an awesome experience. The people are all so friendly, the food has been no disappointment, the trails along the coast have provided incredible views and the the tide pools topped off the experience. (Camp Location #B01)

Picture

#9 - Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park (Crescent City, CA)
September 22-25, 2016

Parking our Airstream in the middle of these Redwood giants made for private and incredible views. This was our second attempt at boon docking but those large trees just aren't solar friendly :) This trip we had two of our friends join us. We hiked the Stout Grove Trail, Spur Trail, Mill Creek Trail, Hiouchi Trail, Boy Scout Tree Trail & Fern Falls. As we were getting ready to leave another couple (Ed & Betsy) in a 23' Airstream International stopped by, exchanged stories and email addresses. (Camp Location #80)

Picture

#8 - Humboldt Redwoods State Park (Weott, CA)
September 21-22, 2016

A quick overnight stay in the Redwoods. Our first time boon docking with solar didn't go so well with the tall Redwood trees. We only pulled in .1A - .2A per hour but are still very happy with the upgrade. (Camp Location #21 in Burlington Loop)

Picture

September 9-10, 2016
